On any given day of the year, 1 billion people worldwide have a headache. The most common headaches are tension type headaches and migraines. In this blog we will discuss tension type headaches in more detail, because this is one of the headaches that we see often as a orofacial physiotherapist.
Tension type headaches often indicate that there is tension in the jaw and/or the muscles of the neck. The muscles in this region can cause headaches. During the intake at OFCN we try to find out together what the reason is for the tense muscles.
Together with you, we look for the factors that cause muscle tension, which can lead to your headache. You can think of breathing, mouth behavior, tongue position, sleep and stress. We also try to explain how pain works in the brain.
If you recognize yourself in the above, you can always call, app or email us to discuss whether we can do something for you.
